About Meritage Homes

Meritage Homes was founded in 1985 as Monterey Homes in Scottsdale, Arizona, and took the Meritage name in 1997. Meritage shows five Classic Series plans:

Yellowstone: 4 bed, 2.5 bath, about 2,168 sq ft.
Zion: 4 bed, 3 bath, about 2,387 sq ft.

What floor plans does the Signature Series offer?

The Signature Series lists eight plans. Five have published sizes: Bluebell (3 bed, 2 bath, 1,491 sq ft), Daphne (3 bed, 2 bath, 1,695 sq ft), Foxglove (4 bed, 2 bath, 1,840 sq ft), Hibiscus (4 bed, 3 bath, 1,988 sq ft) and Primrose (4 bed, 3 bath, 2,631 sq ft). On November 4, 2026, Meritage listed two move-in homes in each series. Signature Series homes ran from $280,000 to $299,990, with 3 bedrooms and 1,491 to 1,695 sq ft. Classic Series homes ran from $305,000 to $360,000, with 4 bedrooms and 1,607 to 2,387 sq ft. Stellar MLS listings shown on Estate Vida include two Classic homes on Willow Creek at $305,000 (1,607 sq ft) and $360,000 (2,387 sq ft). Meritage prices change often, so ask for the current price sheet before you visit.

Plan for a CDD. Estate Vida's review of Crosswinds listings from January to October 2026 (updated October 11, 2026) found a CDD on every listing that reported one, with a median of $2,609 per year on the property tax bill. The median HOA was $612 per year, about $51 per month. These are listing medians across all Crosswinds phases, so confirm the exact fees for any homesite. What amenities does Crosswinds offer?

Meritage lists a pool and cabana, two dog parks, a playground, walking trails and two sports fields for Crosswinds residents. The community site plan shows an amenity center along Crosswinds East Boulevard, plus ponds, walking trails and a dog park spread through the neighborhoods. Homesites come in 40-foot and 50-foot widths.

Crosswinds sits between Baker Dairy Road and Snell Creek Road on the east side of Haines City, and Meritage markets the community as serving both Davenport and Haines City. US-27 runs through both towns and connects north to I-4, which leads toward ChampionsGate, the Disney area and Orlando.

Meritage lists Eastside Elementary, Boone Middle and Ridge Community Senior High as nearby schools, which are in Polk County Public Schools. School zones can change, so check the exact address with the district before you write a contract.

Crosswinds gives buyers two price tiers from one builder in the same community. The Signature Series move-in homes start under $300,000, and the Classic Series adds 4-bedroom homes up to about 2,400 square feet.
